Sea water desalination facilities use systems to collect water ta must be able to supply good quality and clean water with a minimum impacto n the environment. To achieve this goal it is necessary to have a site study to acquire data of marine conditions, pollution, design and even possible precipitacion in the sea water which can affect the filters of the water plant. Especially water plants of the sea water Osmosis type. Today all is ready

ing. Mr. Joseph Everon has leaded the project with his team and the Project Bureau to make all the economic calculations and judicial aspects and advise for the project of a new SWRO plant and to get a good contract. As for the approach for the new SWRO plant, a lot of emphasis was put on the preliminary tract. The evaluation period was much longer to be able to consider various offers. A Choice was made from much larger group of contra tractors and the evaluation process was very intensive. Considering that this plant would represent 60 to 70% of the total water production, gives the plant an importance that is very relevant.

Looking at the capacity the plant is required to produce, leaves no space for error. An initial tract of 11 months served to realize different studies and we could count on the assistance of many technical departments to guarantee that all where facing the same direction and on the same frequency. It must be clear that the contractor that was chosen to deliver the plant can do this at the end.

There were some requirements more stringent for the SWRO II plant compared to the first plant, particularly on the consumption of electricity. There are higher requirements set seeing that with a more efficient plant we can have influence on the price of the produced water. At the end of the day it is this that we are trying to achieve. Or say the production of good quality water at a very economical price. As for other physical aspects it is relevant to mention the use of the so-called “beach wells” to get the sea water. In the first plant we met some problems with the ay in which water was taken in from the sea.
