In the 1990’s W.E.B. Aruba N.V. made an approximate 250 million dollars investment to upgrade and expand all its facilities to produce water and generate electricity.

New boilers, desalination plants and modern automatic process control units were installed in addition to turbine generators and electronic equipment. The application of new technology was to provide Aruba with the accustomed reliable, efficient and high quality sources of drinking water and electricity.

At the turn of the century W.E.B. Aruba N.V. made another substantial investment to significantly reduce heavy fuel oil consumption and to increase the company’s efficiency using proven new technologies.

All this based and against the background of the strategic plan “Energia Aruba 2025”. The plan’s main purpose is to guarantee reliable production of drinking water and electricity at an affordable price. Besides the introduction of new sustainable technologies, it will reduce the company’s heavy dependability on fuel oil and eliminate challenges on our environment.
